• creative parameters

Fofilm's advisory board is led by producer Thomas G. Smith. While head of the Industrial Light and Magic division of Lucasfilm, he oversaw the effects work on “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial”, “Poltergeist”, “Star Trek” II and III, “Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi”, “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”, and many other films. He wrote the best-selling film book, “Industrial Light and Magic - The Art of Special Effects”, now in its thirteenth printing.

He also produced two of the “Ewok Adventures” while at Lucasfilm, both nominated for Emmy awards. At Disney Studios he produced “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”, for which he won a British Academy Award. He also produced “The Arrival” independently, and the Muppets miniseries for the Jim Henson company. More recently he produced the visual effects for “Gods and Generals”, a 4-1/2 hour Civil War docudrama, just released on DVD following its theatrical run.

Tom Smith has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization that presents the Academy Awards, for 20 years.
